July 9/12/13, 2019: in Buñol, Spain as part of the WASBE 2019 International Conference, John Lynch will direct the Sydney Conservatory Wind Ensemble in Transcendingthe last movement of Alafaya. The world premiere of this piece will be given by the same group on July 9 in the Museo Centro de Arte Reina Sofia, Madrid. The third concert will be on July 13 in the Palau de la Musica in Barcelona.

June 18, 2017: at 8:00pm in the Teatro del Libertador San Martín in Cordoba, Argentina, Laszlo Marosi will direct the Banda Sinfónica de la Provincia de Córdoba in the South American premiere of The Audacity Of Hope. The band will also record this piece for publisher Star Music Publishing as part of a representative CD.

May 27 and 28, 2017: the Space Coast Symphony Orchestra directed by Aaron Collins will give the world premiere performances of Cosmos, a work commissioned by the orchestra with a narration to be read by former astronauts, Senator Bill Nelson and Buzz Aldrin.

April 24, 25, 26, 2017: the Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra will give the American premiere of the guitar concerto Soul Journeys with soloist Matthew Marshall who commissioned this work with funding from Creative New Zealand.

March 30, 2017: the Trinity Laban Conservatoire Wind Orchestra in London UK directed by Timothy Reynish will perform L’homme armé: Variations, a work he commissioned in 2003 in memory of his son William. Details to follow.

March 23, 2017: the RNCM Wind Ensemble directed by Clark Rundell will give the UK premiere of Rust Belt. The performance will take place at 12:00noon in the Concert Hall of the Royal Northern College of Music.

February, 2017: the United States Air Force Academy Band with conductor Lieutenant Colonel Daniel Price will give the world premiere of Rust Belt, a work they commissioned. More details to follow.

February 16, 2017: the UMM Symphonic Winds, under the direction of Simon Tillier will give the world premiere of Burning Blue, a concerto for electric guitar commissioned by this group, with Michael Nicolella as soloist. More details to follow.

  • November 27, 2016: the Valley Winds directed by Brian Messier will perform L’homme armé: Variations. The performance will take place at 4pm, in the Belchertown High School auditorium.

    November 19, 2016: Rob Curtis will direct award winning choir i Coristi in the world premiere of the complete cycle To The Horizon. The performance will take place in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. I will be present as a guest of i Coristi.

    November 13: at 3:pm, in the First Unitarian Church, 2125 Chestnut Street Philadelphia, PA 19103, the Chestnut Street Singers of Philadelphia will perform This Big Moroccan Sea.

    November 4, 2016: the UMM Chamber Players, under the direction of Simon Tillier will give the world premiere of Short Voyage In A Small Boat in an arrangement for chamber winds by Simon Tillier. The performance will take place at 7:30pm in the HFA Recital Hall.

    October 23, 2016: members of the University of Hawaii Wind Ensemble  directed by Jeffrey Boeckman will give the Hawaii premiere of Light. Details to follow.

    October 2, 2016: the Auckland Chamber Orchestra directed by Peter Scholes will give the world premiere of the guitar concerto Journeys of the Soul with soloist Matthew Marshall. This work was commissioned by Matthew Marshall with funding from Creative New Zealand.

    June 12: the Washington Men’s Camerata will perform Tihei Mauri Ora! under Frank Albinder (for whom this cycle was written) in the Kennedy Center.

    December 04, 2015, at 7:30pm in Orvis Auditorium on the UH-Manoa campus the University of Hawaii Chamber Winds directed by Jeffrey Boeckman will perform Light.

    October 26-30, 2015, I will be composer-in-residence at the University of Minnesota at Morris, where Simon Tillier will give the world premiere of Burning Blue, a concerto for electric guitar, winds and percussion with Chris Kachian as soloist and players from the university. This work was commissioned by the UMM and Chris Kachian. This will be one of several concerts featuring my works including the chamber work Light, the piano concerto movement, For What Is Lost, and choral works, The Magpies and Epitaph.

    October 25, 2015, The Valley Winds on Oct. 25 at Mt. Holyoke College in Massachusetts. Brian Messier will direct the wind ensemble in a performance of Hope Is The Thing With Feathers from An Emily Dickinson Suite, a work he commissioned in 2009.

    October 11-14, 2015, I will be composer-in-residence at the Ithaca College in New York, where Matthew Marsit will direct the wind ensemble in L’homme armé: Variations and I will also give seminars on my music to students of theory and composition.

    October 5, in London UK, Hannah Brine will direct the Victoria Park Singers in a performance of Moemoe Pepe and Minoi Minoi from the Songs of Samoa.

    October 1, at 7:30  John Carmichael will direct the University of South Florida Wind Ensemble in the world premiere of the wind ensemble version of Méndez, commissioned by John Carmichael. There performance will take place in the USF concert hall.

    July 18, at 7:30 pm in Gates Concert Hall, Denver CO, Summit Brass directed by Joseph Parisi will premiere Méndez, the piece they commissioned for the 30th anniversary of the Rafael Méndez Brass Institute and to celebrate the years of support of the Méndez family to this annual event.

    July 15, at 7:30 pm, in the Hamilton Recital Hall in Denver CO, Brian Bowman, euphonium and Miriam Hickman, piano will premiere The Lifeguard, a piece dedicated to Brian Bowman.

    May 7, The Covenant Concert Choir of Melbourne, Florida directed by Kristin Goodnight will give the premiere of a new version of My Florida Home.
